About The Position

Liberal Arts Instructional Technology Services (LAITS) is seeking highly skilled and motivated professionals to assist with the operations of a unique service department dedicated to creating, maintaining, and promoting technology within the College of Liberal Arts at The University of Texas. These fixed-term positions are expected to be funded through August 31st, 2027. This position will coordinate with UT instructional staff and LAITS project and studio staff on the creation of online courses and other multimedia projects, independently creating assets such as graphics, videos, and audio pieces. The role will require technical studio knowledge, organizational skills, communication skills, dependability, and the ability to quickly assess and correct issues.

Requirements

  • 5 Years of professional experience in the field of audio/design/video with a High School Diploma/GED or 1 year of professional experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
  • Experience in setting goals, supervising projects, and making deadlines based on allotted resources.
  • Working knowledge of Workday, Slack, and Harvest.
  • Experience working live-productions.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • More than two years of experience in post-production and the operation of audio or video production equipment.
  • Experience as a Technical Director.
  • Experience in audio, video production, and/or graphic design for online education and online courses.
  • Working knowledge of Basecamp.
  • Working knowledge of Trello.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Comprehensive experience working live events.
  • Experience working with Blackmagic ATEM and/or Teradek encoding devices.
  • Practical experience using AirTable.
  • Experience working with video matrix router.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and as part of a team or crew.
  • Professional customer service and support skills in media support and video editing.
  • Experience overseeing or training student workers or interns.
  • Post-production experience including green screen/chroma key, 2D animation, motion graphics, video editing, and graphic design.
  • Experience creating daily work plans.
  • Experience using ProTools and Ableton Live.
  • Level 2 Dante certification.
  • Professional experience at The University of Texas at Austin as an undergraduate student employee during the 2025-26 academic year.

Responsibilities

  • Work as an audio/video production and post-production specialist in the field, in studios, and in coordination with other AV crews both within and outside of LAITS.
  • Coordinate with LAITS project and studio staff to fully understand requirements of each production and advise on ways of achieving stated goals of those productions.
  • Work autonomously and efficiently on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provide training and feedback on productions to various staff, including student employees.
  • Assist with the operational needs of the Studio team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
