About The Position

Provides installation, service, maintenance, and removal of two-way radio communications systems (mobile and infrastructure related). Provide technical support to Installations Bay team as well as Systems Analysts in the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance support of overall county public safety communications infrastructure (currently 800 MHz trunking system, utilities monitoring systems, tower maintenance, etc.). Duties also include on-call duties on a schedule as well as overseeing special radio communications installations projects (at fire stations, schools, etc.). Perform other work as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum four years of experience in communication-electronics career field or comparable certification or training working with mobile two-way radio communications systems.
• Ability to distinguish between various colored wires.
• Ability to understand and operate hand/power tools and electronic test & measurement equipment (wattmeter, service monitor, multimeter, etc.).
• Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, internet searching, etc.).
• Current, valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months.
• Out-of-state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.
• Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required.
• Passing a more stringent criminal background check due to CJIS Security Policy.
