Under the supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist, the Radiation Therapist performs treatment and simulation procedures, as directed by the Radiation Oncologist. This role involves preparing treatment rooms and equipment, explaining procedures to patients, administering prescribed doses, and maintaining accurate documentation. The Radiation Therapist also operates specialized equipment, evaluates images, monitors patients during therapy, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary care team. Additionally, this position contributes to scheduling, training, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance processes. The role requires adherence to safety standards, participation in educational activities, and accurate recording of patient charges. On-call duties may be required. Patient care responsibilities extend to all age groups served by the medical center.
