About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring a full-time Radiation Therapist for its outpatient oncology center in Lexington, Kentucky. The center offers medical oncology, infusion therapy, radiation oncology, genetic counseling, nutritional counseling, palliative care, psychological support, and other support services. Its care teams develop personalized treatment plans and provide ongoing support and education to patients and caregivers. The Radiation Therapist administers physician-prescribed therapeutic radiation using ionizing-radiation equipment, safely delivers planned courses of radiotherapy, and maintains treatment equipment and records. The role includes demonstrating the use of Linacs and a CT simulator, performing patient treatments, educating patients, scheduling, supporting customer relations, and accurately documenting procedures and capturing charges. The therapist must be available for on-call duties, including weekends and holidays, and be flexible to work beyond standard hours to meet staffing needs.

Requirements

Associate degree.
New graduates may be hired with the understanding that they must pass boards within three months of hire.
Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiation Therapy.
State Radiation Operator Certification.
Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

Administer physician-prescribed therapeutic doses of radiation using ionizing-radiation-producing equipment.
Accurately and safely deliver planned courses of radiotherapy.
Maintain treatment equipment and records, monitor the treatment area, and perform other duties as needed.
Demonstrate the use of Linacs and a CT simulator and perform patient treatments.
Provide patient education, scheduling, and excellent customer relations.
Correctly document procedures and capture charges.
Participate in on-call coverage, including weekends and holidays, and work above standard hours as needed to meet staffing needs.
