About The Position
MultiCare Cancer Institute, a physician-led, multi-specialty group within MultiCare Health System, provides integrated cancer care across Washington state. The Radiation Therapist delivers external beam radiation therapy according to the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncology physician and Medical Radiation Physicist. The role applies radiotherapy expertise, attention to detail, and service orientation in daily work.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Technology program.
- Board eligible and registered to sit for the next board exam; two consecutive attempts are allowed to pass before dismissal is considered.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiation Therapy.
- Certified as a Radiation Therapist by the State of Washington.
- CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and safely deliver the prescribed planned course of radiation therapy in accordance with department procedures.
- Observe patients for unusual physical or psychological reactions, promptly report observations or events to the Clinical Nurse Specialist and/or Radiation Oncology physician, and assist with emergency treatment.
- Maintain the daily treatment schedule and work cooperatively with the physician, physics staff, and front office staff to schedule treatment times, simulations, and diagnostic studies.
