About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Radiation Therapist (Radiation Therapy Tech) in Lancaster, OH. The position is located in a short-term acute care hospital setting and lasts for 12 weeks. The role involves delivering prescribed radiotherapy treatments, preparing patients, monitoring their condition, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate treatment delivery. Requirements

  • Associate degree in radiography with certification in radiation therapy; Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy preferred.
  • State of Ohio licensed Radiation Therapist.
  • ARRT certification.
  • CPR certification.
  • 1–2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a clinical, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a travel assignment within a short-term acute care hospital setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Truebeam/Aria experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver prescribed radiotherapy treatments under physician orders using the department’s radiotherapy equipment; verify prescriptions and patient identity.
  • Position and prepare patients for treatment, monitor for acute reactions, and document observations; provide patient education on procedures and side effects.
  • Verify treatment parameters, check chart and diagnostic information, and coordinate with physicists, nurses, and other care team members to ensure accurate delivery.
  • Prepare rooms and equipment, assist with immobilization devices, and perform port films or verification imaging as directed; adjust therapy per physician instruction.
  • Maintain thorough electronic and written documentation of treatment plans, progress notes, and any deviations; support quality improvement and safety initiatives.
  • Adhere to departmental and hospital policies, infection control standards, and established safety procedures; demonstrate strong interpersonal communication with patients and colleagues.
