About The Position

We are a group of scientists, engineers, designers, technicians, and many others who are dedicated to changing the world by developing medical isotopes to treat and eradicate cancer. We also enjoy darts, cornhole, ping-pong, take-out for group lunches, chili cook-offs, and other fun events that makes our company a community where we make a life, not just a living. This position plays a key role in the production of various medical radioisotopes using extraction methods developed at Niowave. The products will be shipped around the world for use in cancer therapies.

Requirements

Technical training in nuclear engineering, radiological control technician, health physics technician, applied physics, or related field
1 year or more of relevant industry experience:
Working in a chemical laboratory, radiological facility, or related field/industry
Solid understanding of radioactive decay and radiation safety
Radioactive material management
Ongoing/routine production
Working within a regulated industry (e.g. cGMP)

Nice To Haves

Associates or Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in nuclear engineering, radiological control technician, health physics, applied physics, or related field
3+ years of relevant industry experience:

Trained forklift operator
National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists certification
Familiar with Quality Management System for control of documentation and procedures
Formal training/application of Project Management

Responsibilities

Handles sealed and unsealed forms of radioactive material
Conducts radiological contamination surveys
Maintains radiation detectors
Assists in packaging, characterization, and disposition of radioactive waste
Participates in regulatory compliance activities
Participates in the coordination of experiments or procedures in a laboratory setting
Maintains records in a comprehensive, reproducible, and accurate manner.
Manages dosimetry exchanges and records
Maintains compliance with cGMP practices, participating in quality training and event retrospectives
Contributes to inventory management, including radioactive and non-radioactive materials
Supports Production and R&D staff in procedures involving radioactive material handling
