Radiation Oncologist
About The Position
We are seeking a Radiation Oncologist for a Locum Tenens position in Duluth, MN. This role involves providing clinical coverage for outpatient services from October 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027. The physician will manage a daily patient volume of 10-16 patients, including 3-5 CT Sims per day. The facility is equipped with Varian TrueBeam machines, a Siemens CT scanner, and Varian Eclipse treatment planning software. The role requires collaboration with a dedicated support staff, including RNs, MAs, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, and Radiation Therapists. Two other Radiation Oncologists are on-site for backup and collaboration.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE).
- Valid MN medical license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Fellowship in Radiation Oncology required.
- Proficiency in EPIC, Varian ARIA, Eclipse.
- Experience with Varian TrueBeam.

- Experience with Rapid Arc/VMAT, Electrons, Conventional/Conformal Therapy, IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, SRS, Hyper altered fractionation, Conventional treatment planning, Beam shaping (MLC), 3D CRT, PET CT or MRI Image Fusion, Electronic Portal Imaging (EPI).
Responsibilities
- Perform inpatient and outpatient consultations, follow-up visits, and CT sim orders.
- Develop and approve treatment plans, including IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS.
- Participate in chart rounds, peer rounds, and tumor conferences.
- Manage radiation therapy prescriptions, critical structures, and plan approval.
- Collaborate with medical physicists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists.
