Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Integrated Systems Center, supporting the LTAMDS and GhostEye Family of Radars in defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, system performance, execution of system integration and analysis activities. This role will require communication skills to convey solutions and results to teammates and leadership.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Extensive experience with MATLAB.
  • Experience leading teams and ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and senior engineers across disciplines.
  • Experience with technical writing and with presenting designs and results.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with signal processing techniques in complex propagation environments.
  • Design experience in the following radar system areas: antenna, receiver/exciter, waveforms, digital beamforming, multi-sensor track management and data fusion, adaptive signal processing, clutter mitigation techniques, electronic attack and electronic protect, sensor resource management and mission planning.
  • Experience with C++, Python, or similar.
  • Experience in developing and managing requirements, including use of DOORS Rhapsody, Cameo or other digital engineering tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small to medium teams in developing concepts of operations for radar systems with a focus on Air Breathing Targets.
  • Perform statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data.
  • Develop radar processing algorithms.
  • Develop analysis tools in support of problem identification and resolution.
  • Work with Systems and Software Engineers to develop and implement solutions.
  • Present findings and solutions to Leadership and/or Customers.
  • Willingness for occasional travel to support mission execution at various facilities and test sites. Travel will be minimal, approximately 5%.
