About The Position

Peraton Labs is seeking a Radar Countermeasures Engineer to support the U.S. Army at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This position will be on site 5 days a week. The chosen candidate will act in a technical engineering role supporting modeling and simulation, lab-based hardware in the loop simulations, and technique development. Key Responsibilities include: You will participate in engineering lab environments to test, verify, and validate sensor models and signal processing algorithm performance. You will use and modify simulations for the design, development, prototyping, integration, testing, and performance assessment of signal processing algorithms and models. You will develop radar waveforms to serve as evaluation criteria for systems under test (SUTs) performance within the lab environment. You will develop software tools to support the lab environment and signals analysis. You will operate radar SUTs during both lab and field testing. You will prepare and present technical data. Job will include up to 25% travel.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5 years of experience with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA
  • RF (Radio Frequency) Signal Processing, ideally for Radar, but for SIGINT, EW and/or COMMS is acceptable
  • Familiarity with object-oriented or interpreted programming: C, C++, C#, Java, MATLAB, or Python
  • Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI
  • US Citizenship

Nice To Haves

  • Subject Matter Expertise in multiple RF algorithms such as synthetic aperture radar, waveform design, tracking, feature extraction, classification / recognition, adaptive processing, angle estimation, or beamforming.
  • Experience with RF closed loop HW evaluations and raw IQ level data
  • MATLAB for code development / interfacing with lab hardware / data analysis
  • Active SCI access
