Radar Engineer

Tomorrow.ioGolden, CO

About The Position

Tomorrow.io is a leading weather intelligence and climate resilience platform helping organizations and governments make better decisions in a world of increasing weather volatility. By combining proprietary satellite technology, advanced AI forecasting models, and actionable analytics, Tomorrow.io delivers hyper‑local weather insights that protect lives, strengthen operations, and build climate resilience globally. Our space program is core to this mission. We are building and operating a weather observation constellation powered by internally developed software‑defined radars — transforming how atmospheric data is captured and used worldwide. We’re looking for a Radar Engineer to support the design, integration, test, and validation of ground and flight radar payload hardware and software . This role is implementation-focused, translating system concepts into working hardware, firmware, and integrated test setups. The Radar Engineer will work closely with senior engineers and scientists on a team responsible for the development, testing, and infrastructure setup of ground and flight radar systems.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or similar
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with RF or digital hardware integration (Ka-band or mmWave RF systems is preferred)
  • Familiarity with radar systems or phased-array architectures (Ideally with Beamforming implementation, phased-array calibration, SDR platforms, and FPGA-based receivers/exciters)
  • Familiar with lab test equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope)
  • Comfort working with embedded systems, Linux environments, and scripting
  • Comfort learning complex systems incrementally and developing intuition through hands-on data analysis and testing
  • Ability to work effectively within a mixed team of engineers and scientists, with respect for different technical perspectives
  • Willingness to move fluidly between theory, simulation, and real system behavior
  • Clear technical communication skills, including explaining assumptions, limitations, and trade-offs
  • This position requires access to technology that is controlled under U.S. export control laws and regulations. Accordingly, this position is restricted to U.S. citizens, permanent residents and protected individuals unless and until any required licenses are obtained.
