About The Position

Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Radar Systems Engineer I to join our Surface Radars and Radars team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting a range of sensor and effector programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of the product, from concept development to deployment. Every day will bring new challenges, requiring collaboration across disciplines to troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, and implement solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the success of mission-critical defense systems, and you’ll have a hands-on role in ensuring the entire system functions seamlessly. This is an onsite position based in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. The role may require up to 20% travel to RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations to support test events and mission execution.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
  • Experience with design, development, and analysis of radar system and software architectures
  • Experience with signal processing techniques in complex propagation environments
  • Design experience in the following radar system areas; antenna, receiver/exciter, waveforms, digital beamforming, multi-sensor track management and data fusion, adaptive signal processing, clutter mitigation techniques, electronic attack and electronic protect, sensor resource management and mission planning
  • Requirements development experience, including use of DOORS
  • Experience with MATLAB/Python/C++
  • Experience with technical writing and oral presentations

Responsibilities

  • Develop concepts of operations for radar systems
  • Responsible for radar processing algorithm development
  • Responsible for radar software requirements development
  • Responsible for statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data
  • Responsible for analysis tool development in support of problem identification and resolution
  • Responsible for collaboration with Systems and Software Engineers to develop and implement solutions
  • Present findings and solutions to Leadership and/or Customers
