Requirements

  • Must have passed or is eligible for the examination of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography.
  • Continued employment is provisional based on completion and certification by the ARRT within six months. Registered technologists must be in good standing
  • Maintains BLS certification with biannual renewal
  • Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
  • MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient registration, verify insurance and demographics, room patients, obtain vital signs, explain procedures, and enter accurate information into the electronic health record.
  • Operate radiographic equipment safely and efficiently, prepare patients and supplies, perform diagnostic imaging, and evaluate image quality according to department protocols.
  • Perform waived laboratory testing, venipuncture, EKGs, urine drug screens, and breath alcohol testing; assist providers with minor procedures.
  • Answer phones and route messages, process medication refill requests, order and stock clinic supplies, obtain prior authorizations, process referrals, and scan documentation into the electronic health record.
  • Follow OMH policies and procedures to promote patient and staff safety while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
