This role ensures safety and professional conduct by following all safety procedures, using proper body mechanics, reporting unsafe conditions, adhering to radiation safety standards (including ALARA, shielding, and collimation), and maintaining a professional appearance. The position provides high-quality patient care from arrival to departure, communicating with courtesy and discretion, safely transferring and positioning patients, providing immobilization and protection, and assisting in first aid or emergencies when needed. The technologist will perform imaging procedures accurately by operating imaging equipment using proper technical factors, selecting and loading appropriate cassettes, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and assisting physicians with contrast media, sterile procedures, and patient handling. Additionally, the role involves maintaining imaging rooms, preventing cross-contamination, securing supplies, reporting equipment malfunctions, handling equipment responsibly, and completing necessary clerical duties. The position also supports department operations and professional growth by assuming delegated responsibilities when leadership is absent, assisting with additional equipment or procedures as needed, and participating in continuing education to maintain and expand skills.
