About The Position
Highland Hospital is seeking a full-time Xray Tech Aid to assist with efficient patient flow by supporting technologists and registered nurses. The scheduled hours are Friday from 8:00 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. and Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. The role supports patient safety and comfort, helps patients move through radiology and the continuum of care, and assists with preparation for and completion of procedures. The position also monitors schedules and the Radiology Information System, handles phones and messages, and maintains linen and supplies.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent experience.
- Computer skills are essential.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of 1 year of radiology office experience is preferred.
- Advanced computer skills are preferred, including eRecord.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the patient schedule.
- Ensure patient flow.
- Monitor the Radiology Information System to maximize patient flow.
- Answer the phone and take messages as appropriate.
- Stock linen and supplies as needed and monitor expiration dates monthly.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Assist with transferring patients on and off the scanning table.
- Assist with checking in patients.
- Navigate patients throughout the continuum of care.
- Escort or transport patients to and from the ED, waiting areas, and procedure areas.
- Assist the technologist and nurse with preparation for and completion of procedures.
- Place the stretcher in its lowest position and maintain a safe height during transfers.
- Change scanning bed attachments at the technologist’s direction.
- Place socks on patients.
