About The Position

Places materials on a rack to prepare them for painting or finishing. The work may involve materials such as lead, chromium, and zinc, and requires maintaining high safety standards. The role applies knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques and uses work aids while performing assigned duties. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The employee needs basic computer proficiency for data entry into manufacturing software and the ability to read and write English, understand simple instructions and workplace documents, and write simple correspondence.

Requirements

• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic computer proficiency, including basic data entry into a manufacturing software system.

Responsibilities

• Follow general company and corporate policies and procedures, as well as department policies and procedures.
• Regulate equipment controls used to cure and dry paint or other coatings.
• Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with industry standards.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Report to work on time, follow supervisor or management instructions, interact well with coworkers, and follow work rules and procedures.
• Cross-train in different processes within the department.
• Clean the site after work is done.
• Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
