About The Position

This position is for a Racker/Packer of Metal Parts at Avtec Finishing in New Hope, Minnesota, on the 1st shift. The role involves preparing customer parts for the metal finishing process by attaching them to specialized racks before plating and removing them after processing. This is a critical role for product quality, ensuring parts are processed correctly, protected, and delivered on time. The job also includes inspecting, counting, packaging, and preparing parts, as well as supporting overall production. No previous metal finishing experience is required as training will be provided. The company emphasizes that while they can teach the technical aspects of the job, they cannot teach reliability, work ethic, initiative, and a commitment to quality. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to follow written instructions.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read an analog clock and tape measure.
  • Comfortable using computers, tablets, and production software.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the United States.
  • Enjoy staying busy and working with your hands.
  • Dependable attendance and understanding that production depends on employees showing up every day and on time.
  • Pay attention to detail and enjoy producing quality work.
  • Comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment that includes heat, humidity, dust, noise, and chemicals.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team while remaining accountable for your own work.
  • Understand that personal mobile devices are secured during working hours and may only be accessed during scheduled breaks in designated areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, assembly, production, shipping, or machine operation experience.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Count and verify customer parts before processing.
  • Rack customer parts according to work instructions and quality requirements.
  • Inspect parts for quality, damage, and accuracy.
  • Remove completed parts from racks after processing.
  • Package finished products for shipment.
  • Complete production paperwork accurately.
  • Follow established production procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
  • Meet established production and quality expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
