R&D Technician II

DandyCarrollton, TX
Onsite

About The Position

Dandy is hiring an R&D Technician II to join their rapidly growing venture-backed company, supporting their metal partials manufacturing line. In this role, you'll handle hands-on production work — from metal post-processing through assembly, quality checks, and packing — in a fast-paced, scaling dental manufacturing environment. Dental or dental lab experience is ideal but not required; what matters most is being a self-starter who's comfortable on a computer and keeping accurate, organized records as you go. This role sits within R&D, where the nature of the work is fast-paced and constantly evolving — processes, equipment, and priorities can shift with little notice as we develop and scale new manufacturing lines. We're looking for someone who's energized by that environment: comfortable adapting to change, flexible when things are still being figured out, and able to stay effective amid ambiguity.

Requirements

  • Comfortable and efficient using a computer — spreadsheets, portals, and production tracking tools are used daily
  • A self-starter who can work under minimal supervision and take ownership of daily production
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort with repeatable, quality-driven processes
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive manual tasks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment as the line scales
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity — able to adapt quickly as R&D processes, equipment, and priorities evolve
  • Demonstrated proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the English language

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in a dental, dental lab, or similar precision manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with removable partial dentures (RPD), metal frameworks, or similar dental appliances
  • CNC milling or precision machining experience
  • Familiarity with 3D-printed metal or acrylic components and their post-processing
  • Experience with case-tracking, MES, or similar production-tracking software

Responsibilities

  • Perform metal post-processing on printed frameworks: support removal, tumbling, and finishing to meet spec
  • Work at the marrying station to join components, then support assembly, quality checks, and packing
  • Track case-level status and inventory using spreadsheets and internal portal tools — accurate, up-to-date records are core to the role
  • Inspect finished components against quality standards and flag issues before they move downstream
  • Operate and help maintain production equipment (mills, printers, finishing stations); perform basic troubleshooting and escalate as needed
  • Follow and help refine SOPs as the line scales; flag process gaps and suggest improvements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area

Benefits

  • healthcare
  • dental
  • mental health support
  • parental planning resources
  • retirement savings options
  • generous paid time off
