The R&D Semiconductor Integration Engineer manages integration of individual processes into fabrication flows for new products. The role defines new unit-process requirements and targets, designs and integrates wafer-fab process flows, and works with cross-functional partners to scale products to production and achieve manufacturing yield targets. It also defines test structures and layouts for fabricating and characterizing new device technologies and demonstrating margin for volume manufacturing. The engineer performs DC, small-signal RF, and optical device testing and characterization; establishes test plans; and collects and analyzes data. The role characterizes wafer-fab design rules in relation to device performance and characteristics, establishes design rules to support process margin and high product yield, and works with manufacturing to specify and verify critical in-line and PCM process-control metrics. The engineer applies knowledge of device/process interactions and process-integration issues to drive improvements, prepares process-technology transfer documentation for manufacturing, and participates in ongoing yield and performance improvement efforts. This is an on-site, full-time position. Regular computer and office-equipment use and interaction with team members and external contacts are part of the job. Employees must follow site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards. Depending on location, the role may also be responsible for executing and maintaining applicable ISO 9000, 9001, 14001, or other standards within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
