About The Position

The R&D Lab Manager is responsible for maintaining reagent and material inventories, managing laboratory equipment, and ensuring an organized, safe, and efficient laboratory environment. As a key member of the R&D team, this individual collaborates closely with laboratory personnel and serves as a liaison with internal departments and external vendors to support seamless laboratory operations. Success in this role requires adaptability, initiative, and a willingness to learn new techniques while responding effectively to changing priorities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of B.S. in molecular biology, cell biology, life sciences, or related field.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be highly collaborative, team oriented and an effective player.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self- starter with the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Special attention to detail, resourceful and highly organized.
  • Experience with standard cell and molecular biology techniques and basic statistical analysis
  • Ability to execute projects with minimal supervision, collaborating with project team members to achieve project goals.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to proactively problem-solve.
  • Experience working within a quality system.
  • Demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles, adapt to evolving priorities, and perform effectively under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • B.S. with 5+ years industry experience, or M.S. with 2+ years of industry experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience managing R&D laboratory operations is preferred.
  • Experience documenting experiments within electronic lab notebooks (ELNs), Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), or similar laboratory management tools is preferred.
  • Experience with microscopy, tissue analysis, and data interpretation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain laboratory equipment, including routine upkeep, service coordination, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Maintain inventories of reagents, consumables, and laboratory supplies.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized laboratory environment, including general housekeeping activities.
  • Manage laboratory space and coordinate waste disposal activities.
  • Collaborate with R&D team members to identify, assess, and address laboratory operational needs.
  • Proactively identify operational risks, inefficiencies, and unmet laboratory needs; develop and implement practical solutions and process improvements.
  • Coordinate onboarding and laboratory training for new personnel and ensure adherence to established laboratory procedures and best practices.
  • Partner with R&D leadership, EH&S, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to support efficient and compliant laboratory operations.
  • Execute responsibilities with a high degree of independence, accountability, and sound judgment.
  • Support the Company's Quality System objectives.
