About The Position

As an R&D Lab Support Technician, you'll play a vital role in supporting our Research & Development team by ensuring test materials, equipment, and workspaces are prepared and ready for action. In this hands-on role, you'll contribute to the successful execution of mechanical and materials testing by assisting with sample preparation, test setup, material movement, documentation, and laboratory organization. Working alongside R&D engineers and laboratory technicians, you'll help create a seamless testing environment where innovation can thrive while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, environmental responsibility, and ethics.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Technical training, coursework, or laboratory experience is a strong advantage.
Previous experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, industrial, or technical support environment is preferred.
Comfortable working with tools, materials, and test samples in a laboratory or industrial setting.
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to work hands-on with testing equipment under guidance.
Familiarity with Windows-based applications and basic data entry/documentation tasks.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to follow written procedures and verbal instructions accurately.
Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn, support others, and take direction effectively.
Physically capable of standing, walking, lifting, and moving materials throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

Prepare test specimens by cleaning, labeling, organizing, and staging materials for upcoming evaluations.
Assist with laboratory test setups, changeovers, and post-test teardown activities.
Ensure fixtures, tooling, and consumables are properly prepared and available when needed.
Conduct dimensional checks using basic measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
Safely transport samples, equipment, and testing materials between preparation, testing, and storage areas.
Support material handling activities to ensure a streamlined laboratory workflow.
Help maintain laboratory readiness by organizing tools, materials, and workspaces.
Assist with documentation activities, including maintaining test records and organizing laboratory paperwork.
Perform routine visual inspections and basic equipment checks, promptly reporting any issues.
Adhere to established laboratory procedures, safety policies, and environmental regulations at all times.
Collaborate with R&D professionals and laboratory technicians to support daily testing activities.
Provide general operational support that contributes to efficient, productive, and successful laboratory operations.
