About The Position

This paid, three-month internship at Philips’ Bothell, Washington site is for students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees. The intern will work across scientific and engineering disciplines to research, develop, and evaluate new healthcare technologies, with an emphasis on biomedical engineering, optics, prototyping, and experimental testing. The role involves designing, fabricating, assembling, and refining prototypes, test fixtures, and experimental setups using CAD, additive manufacturing, optical systems, metrology, and other hands-on engineering methods. The intern will plan and conduct experiments; assess product performance, accuracy, repeatability, reliability, and usability using image processing, data analysis, and statistical methods; and support prototype verification and user or clinical studies. The intern will also develop measurement methods and test protocols, prepare equipment and study setups, apply human factors principles, interpret findings to inform design improvements, document methods and results, and communicate recommendations to cross-functional technical, clinical, and product development teams. This is an office role based in Bothell, WA. Office-based teams work in person at least three days per week. Candidates must reside in or within commuting distance of Bothell. US work authorization is required; sponsorship is not available. Relocation benefits are not provided. The hourly pay range is $29.00–$32.00, with overtime eligibility.
