About The Position

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and deliver software and firmware for ultra-high-performance datacenter-scale solutions. This is an in-person position in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment with a small team of experienced engineers. The “One Person, One Project” development culture gives you ownership of all aspects of a design, potentially including ZephyrOS/OpenBMC firmware, microcode, device drivers, embedded Linux/Yocto builds, and upper-level control software. Product ownership extends beyond shipment: you may assist with customer trials, address field issues, ensure product sustainability, and drive validation and automation. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary engineering team and partner engineering teams on forward-looking technologies. The position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and 12 or more years of related experience. Beneficial experience includes leading a small team or serving as a technical mentor.

  • Experience with Linux/Yocto, OpenBMC, and/or ZephyrOS.
  • Deep expertise in early-stage development, including silicon, chip, board, and full-system bring-up.
  • Proven ability in driver development and low-level or silicon debugging.
  • Hands-on experience writing software for low-level interfaces including I2C, PMBus, AVSbus, MDIO, PCIe, SPI, USB, and SERDES.
  • Strong knowledge of Redfish and DMTF standards, including MCTP, PLDM, and SPDM.
  • Experience implementing Secure Boot, u-boot, and Secure Root of Trust (RoT), and familiarity with architectures such as Calyptra.
  • Baseline knowledge of datacenter networking, switching, and NIC architectures.
  • Expertise with debugging tools, testing techniques, and system-level validation and automation.
  • Demonstrated lifecycle product ownership of complex products, participating in cross-functional teams from product inception to volume production.
  • Ability to work with support groups across the organization.
