About The Position

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and deliver software and firmware for ultra-high-performance datacenter-scale solutions. This is an in-person role in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment with a small team of experienced engineers. The development culture emphasizes individual project ownership across the design, which may include ZephyrOS/OpenBMC firmware, microcode, device drivers, embedded Linux/Yocto builds, and upper-level control software. The role includes cradle-to-grave product ownership beyond product shipment, including support for customer trials, resolving field issues, product sustainability, and validation and automation. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary engineering team working on forward-looking technologies and interact extensively with partner engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in early-stage development, including silicon, chip, board, and full-system bring-up.
  • Proven ability in driver development and low-level or silicon debugging.
  • Hands-on experience writing software for low-level interfaces, including I2C, PMBus, AVSbus, MDIO, PCIe, SPI, USB, and SERDES.
  • Strong knowledge of Redfish and DMTF standards, including MCTP, PLDM, and SPDM.
  • Experience implementing Secure Boot, u-boot, and Secure Root of Trust (RoT), and familiarity with architectures such as Calyptra.
  • Baseline knowledge of datacenter networking, switching, and NIC architectures.
  • Expertise with debugging tools, testing techniques, and system-level validation and automation.
  • Demonstrated lifecycle product ownership of complex products, working with cross-functional teams from product inception to volume production.
  • Ability to work with support groups including Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Compliance, Safety, and Sustainability.
