Develop and maintain structural designs for superconducting MRI magnet systems, including cryogenic vessels, cryostats, coil structures, and mechanical support systems. Solve complex structural problems by creating models and analyses to predict static and dynamic loads and stresses using hand calculations, numerical methods, and finite element analysis (FEA) to guide design decisions. Define and execute engineering mitigation activities, including requirements management, FMEA, test planning, prototype test development, data acquisition, analysis, and technical documentation. Support prototype development and product industrialization by working with suppliers and manufacturing on component fabrication, supplier qualification, design implementation, and manufacturing challenges. Provide mechanical engineering expertise across the product lifecycle, collaborating with Systems Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Service, and other disciplines to resolve technical and field issues and deliver robust designs. The role is classified as an office role; office-based teams work in person at least three days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence at company facilities. The position requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent, and at least four years of experience with vocational education in areas such as System Architecture, System Design, Hardware Engineering, or equivalent. US work authorization is required; candidates needing work-authorized visa sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered.
