About The Position

This is an opportunity to become a key part of an agile, independent, and competent team driving new technology development within a leading international organization. Under direct supervision, applies functional specifications and uses engineering tools to design analogue and digital electronic circuits and embedded firmware for downhole, subsea and surface interface systems. Uses software tools or applications to analyse and conduct tests on electronic circuits or systems and document performance in comparison with design criteria. Working as part of a team to implement optimal and high-performance firmware by leveraging understanding of embedded hardware design. Identifies the testing requirement at a component level with the emphasis on complying with test standards and Halliburton’s Health, Safety, and Environment procedures and evaluates test results. Assists in preparation of component specifications, design documentation and preparation for design reviews. Contributes to reliability analysis such as risk assessments and Failure Mode Effects Analysis by compiling and examining data. Works as integral part of multi-discipline team including Electronics Hardware Engineering, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, assembly and test, and Software teams.

Requirements

Skills acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
Analogue and Digital Electronic Design
Troubleshoot and diagnose prototype and production electronics.
Design and execution of electronic test programmes
PCB schematic capture and layout design using Altium software or similar.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a Masters in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
Firmware/Software design, particularly embedded C on microcontrollers desirable
High temperature electronic design desirable
