About The Position

GBrakes is looking for a hands-on technical problem solver to support product research, specification development, reverse engineering, warranty analysis, and customer technical needs. You will help turn real-world fitment questions into accurate drawings, dependable specifications, and brake products riders can trust.

Requirements

  • CAD experience is required. You must be able to create and modify production-ready 2D drawings and 3D models in a professional CAD platform.
  • Mechanical engineering skills are required. You must understand mechanical design, dimensions and tolerances, materials, hardware, and how components interact in a real assembly.
  • Hands-on motorcycle experience is required. You must be comfortable identifying major motorcycle systems and safely removing, inspecting, installing, and reassembling components.
  • Strong measurement skills using tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical manuals, and fitment information.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, sound judgment, careful documentation, and the ability to manage several active tasks without losing the details.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal education or technical training in mechanical engineering, mechanical design, drafting, manufacturing, automotive or motorcycle technology, or a closely related field.
  • Experience with brake systems, hydraulic lines, machining, fabrication, prototyping, product testing, or quality inspection.
  • A rider's curiosity: you enjoy finding out why something fits, fails, vibrates, wears, or performs the way it does.

Responsibilities

  • Create, revise, and maintain accurate 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for motorcycle brake components, fixtures, prototypes, labels, and supporting technical materials.
  • Inspect customer-supplied parts and brake lines, capture dimensions and specifications, and produce clear documentation for replication or product development.
  • Assist with motorcycle disassembly, component inspection, installation, fitment checks, troubleshooting, and reassembly for research and development projects.
  • Research motorcycle applications, verify custom line sheets, confirm fitment data, and maintain organized engineering records.
  • Inspect warranty returns, document findings, identify likely failure modes, and communicate conclusions to customer service and the R&D team.
  • Respond professionally to technical emails and calls, prepare technical sheets, and assist warehouse, sales, and media teams with product information and special projects.
  • Support test fitting, basic fabrication, iterative design changes, and practical improvements to products and internal processes.
