About The Position

Europastry, a family business founded in Barcelona in 1987, is seeking a motivated and experienced R&D Administrator to join their growing company. This role is responsible for maintaining data and information files related to products, experiments, ingredients, and formulas, as well as preparing reports and managing department databases.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 2–4 years of experience in an R&D support role, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow simple to complex instructions, technical documents, correspondence, and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary, pastry, food science, or related manufacturing background preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and participate in meetings with the R&D team, preparing agendas and recaps.
  • Manage New Product Requests from the Sales team and maintain communication regarding new projects.
  • Prepare R&D reports and summaries for distribution.
  • Perform administrative duties and provide support for R&D Team involved with new product experiments.
  • Compile data and maintain accurate daily logs based on research and experiments.
  • Maintain accurate R&D department records, including tracking tasks and projects.
  • Fulfill customer sample requests, including all necessary steps and facilitating shipment.
  • Assist with the Kosher OU program, requesting approval for ingredients and finished goods.
  • Handle new ingredient procedures, including obtaining technical documents and managing systems.
  • Source/research new ingredients and maintain communication with vendors.
  • Perform child nutrition/whole grain analysis and address related customer inquiries.
  • Initiate the new item process and develop SKU initiations.
  • Create, change, and maintain experiment folders with formulas and specification information.
  • Research and respond to inquiries from Sales & Marketing, customers, and consumers regarding ingredients and products.
  • Organize bake-offs, review experiments, and report status updates and next steps to the team.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
  • Compile and generate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) for experiments and new items with various departments.
  • Meet company standards for quantity and quality of work.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding workplace behavior.
  • Follow all Company Safety policies and GMP regulations.
