About The Position

The Quoting Engineer supports the company’s Minnesota sites in Big Lake and Coon Rapids. This is an onsite position at one of those locations, with occasional travel between the two. Reporting to the Technical Solutions Manager, the role prepares accurate and timely cost estimates and customer quotations for new and existing business opportunities. It focuses on coordinating across functions and collecting information to develop cost models. This is a mid-to-entry-level individual contributor position with no direct supervisory responsibility.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or associate degree, or certificates, in Engineering, Finance, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in the absence of a degree or certificate.
Understanding of manufacturing processes.
Strong blueprint-reading and CAD familiarity.
Cross-functional leadership skills.
Analytical and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a regulated medical manufacturing environment.
Experience organizing and leading technical reviews.
Experience with ERP systems, ideally IFS.
Lean or continuous improvement experience.
CAD and blueprint-reading expertise.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for requests for quotations (RFQs).
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models.
Develop cost models that include labor, materials, overhead, and tooling.
Validate routing and process assumptions with Engineering and Operations.
Estimate the cost impact of design changes and engineering revisions.
Ensure quotes align with established margin targets.
Support pricing reviews before submission.
Perform post-award cost validation and basic variance analysis.
Provide cost analysis support to Finance as requested.
Coordinate RFQ activity between Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain.
Participate in technical reviews and program kick-off meetings.
Summarize key cost drivers and assumptions for internal stakeholders.
Maintain estimating tools, templates, and cost databases.
Identify opportunities to improve quoting accuracy and efficiency.
