About The Position

Moore Supply Company, a trade name of Hajoca Corporation, is seeking a Quotation Specialist for their San Antonio, TX location. Hajoca Corporation is a large, privately-held wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies, founded in 1858. The company operates in a decentralized environment where each location, called a Profit Center (PC), is managed independently. The Quotation Specialist will interpret complex customer requirements, offer solutions, negotiate pricing, create accurate quotations and submittal packages, follow up on outstanding quotations, and support the Profit Center Sales Team. This role also involves investigating and resolving customer problems, addressing pricing deductions and material returns, and communicating potential credit risks to management. The position requires successful completion of assigned safety and compliance training programs and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1+ years' experience creating quotes and providing customer service
  • Comprehensive knowledge of products sold by the Profit Center
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) to communicate via email, to maintain appointment and customer contact files, and to analyze performance data.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication, and generous listening skills.
  • Organized, a self-starter, and detail oriented.
  • Able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Able to collect and analyze quotations data to determine patterns of success or failure; take appropriate action to adjust processes to ensure success.
  • Able to learn and operate the computer related systems used to create and submit quotation packages and create orders.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret complex customer requirements and offer solutions that maximize profitability and add value for the customer; negotiate pricing with manufacturers and customers.
  • Create accurate and professional quotations and submittal packages from customer specifications/drawings using the applicable software systems.
  • Follow up on outstanding quotations to secure orders, improve quotation process, and measure effectiveness.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure orders are filled promptly; assist with project management and coordinate deliverables.
  • Support the Profit Center Sales Team serving as a peer expert concerning the specifics of quotes, proposals, bid strategies, and product application.
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems; address pricing deductions and material returns timely and in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
  • Communicate to the Profit Center Manager and Credit Manager any changes in a customer’s business that might cause a credit risk.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
