About The Position

This role is for a Plumbing Quotations Specialist who possesses a strong work ethic, high integrity, strong communication skills, and values customer service. The specialist will interpret complex customer requirements, offer solutions that maximize profitability and add value, and negotiate pricing with manufacturers and customers. They will create accurate and professional quotations and submittal packages using applicable software systems, and follow up on outstanding quotations to secure orders and improve the quotation process. The role also involves following up with customers to ensure prompt order fulfillment, assisting with project management, and coordinating deliverables. The specialist will support the Profit Center Sales Team as a peer expert on quotes, proposals, bid strategies, and product application. Additionally, they will investigate and resolve customer problems, address pricing deductions and material returns, and communicate potential credit risks to management. Safety and compliance training are also required, along with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1+ years' experience creating quotes and providing customer service
• Comprehensive knowledge of products sold by the Profit Center
• Experience using Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) to communicate via email, to maintain appointment and customer contact files, and to analyze performance data
• Outstanding verbal and written communication, and generous listening skills
• Organized, a self-starter, and detail oriented
• Able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers
• Able to collect and analyze quotations data to determine patterns of success or failure; take appropriate action to adjust processes to ensure success
• Able to learn and operate the computer related systems used to create and submit quotation packages and create orders
• Read, write, speak, and understand English
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex customer requirements and offer solutions that maximize profitability and add value for the customer
• Negotiate pricing with manufacturers and customers
• Create accurate and professional quotations and submittal packages from customer specifications/drawings using the applicable software systems
• Follow up on outstanding quotations to secure orders, improve quotation process, and measure effectiveness
• Follow up with customers to ensure orders are filled promptly
• Assist with project management and coordinate deliverables
• Support the Profit Center Sales Team serving as a peer expert concerning the specifics of quotes, proposals, bid strategies, and product application
• Investigate and resolve customer problems
• Address pricing deductions and material returns timely and in accordance with Company policy and procedure
• Communicate to the Profit Center Manager and Credit Manager any changes in a customer’s business that might cause a credit risk
• Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned
• Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required
