About The Position

Belvedere Trading is a leading proprietary trading firm headquartered in downtown Chicago, specializing in market-making across commodities, interest rates, ETFs, and equity index options. We invest in proprietary technology, building our systems from the ground up and continuously optimizing them. Quantitative Trading Interns at Belvedere are highly motivated, quantitative problem solvers with a passion for financial markets and teamwork. They participate in a hands-on rotation between trading desks, collaborating with Developers and Strategists to enhance trading systems. Interns are immersed in technology, learning software development best practices and focusing on projects related to trading logic, electronic trading strategies, and quantitative research. No prior trading knowledge is required, as the Belvedere Trading University (BTU) program provides comprehensive training.

Requirements

  • Ability to speak confidently and concisely.
  • Quantitative thinking and strong data analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated success in working in team-based environments.
  • Eagerness to ask questions and get involved.
  • Some training or demonstrated ability to learn programming languages such as C++, C#, and Python.
  • Ability to effectively use AI tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining independent judgment.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Ability to live in Chicago and attend the internship fully in person during the winter quarter of 2027 (January - March).
  • Graduation date of December 2027/Spring 2028.

  • Knowledge of the financial markets and trading industry is a plus but not a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with analyzing daily trades and recapping significant trends.
  • Rotate between product groups to gain a broad understanding of the market and trading strategies.
  • Engage in daily collaborative strategy adjustments with the team to adapt to market dynamics.
  • Participate in quantitative research and the application of quantitative strategies, learning core market-making concepts.
  • Analyze extensive datasets to extract insights that bolster trading strategies.
