Quantitative Trading Interns at Belvedere are highly motivated, quantitative problem solvers with a passion for financial markets and teamwork. They participate in a hands-on rotation between trading desks and collaborate with Developers and Strategists on research to improve trading systems. Interns are immersed in technology, learning best practices in software development and focusing on projects related to trading logic, electronic trading strategies, and quantitative research. If you love technology and financial markets, this position is for you. While prior trading knowledge is not required, our Belvedere Trading University (BTU) program will provide comprehensive training.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to learn programming languages such as C++, C#, and Python.
  • Effectively use AI tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining independent judgment.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Ability to live in Chicago and attend the internship fully in person during the winter quarter of 2027 (January - March).
  • Graduation date of December 2027/Spring 2028.
  • The SIE and Series 57 licenses are required for trading positions; Belvedere Trading will provide study materials and dedicated time for obtaining these certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the financial markets and trading industry is a plus but not a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with analyzing daily trades and recapping significant trends.
  • Rotate between product groups to gain a broad understanding of the market and trading strategies.
  • Engage in daily collaborative strategy adjustments with your team to adapt to market dynamics.
  • Participate in quantitative research and the application of quantitative strategies while learning concepts behind core market making operations.
  • Analyze extensive datasets to extract insights that bolster trading strategies.
