Quantitative Trading Interns at Belvedere Trading are highly motivated, quantitative problem solvers with a passion for financial markets and teamwork. They participate in a hands-on rotation between trading desks and collaborate with Developers and Strategists on research to improve trading systems. Interns are immersed in technology, learning best practices in software development and focusing on projects related to trading logic development, electronic trading strategies, and quantitative research. This role is ideal for those who love technology and financial markets. Prior trading knowledge is not required; our Belvedere Trading University (BTU) program will provide comprehensive training.

Requirements

  • Curiosity and eagerness to ask questions and get involved.
  • Strong communication skills, able to speak confidently and concisely.
  • Analytical thinking and strong data analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated success in working in team-based environments.
  • Ability to effectively use AI tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining independent judgment and critical thinking.
  • Some training or demonstrated ability to learn programming languages such as C++, C#, and Python.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Ability to live in Chicago and attend the internship fully in person during the summer of 2027.
  • Graduation date of December 2027/Spring 2028.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with analyzing daily trades and recapping significant trends.
  • Rotate between product groups to gain a broad understanding of the market and trading strategies.
  • Engage in daily collaborative strategy adjustments with the team to adapt to market dynamics.
  • Participate in quantitative research and the application of quantitative strategies, learning core market-making concepts.
  • Analyze extensive datasets to extract insights that bolster trading strategies.
