About The Position

The Quantitative Analyst will join Invesco Fixed Income’s broader quantitative team, which develops market research, data, models, and analytical tools to strengthen investment decision-making, portfolio construction, and risk management. The role focuses on municipal strategies and works closely with portfolio managers and credit researchers on market-, portfolio-, and security-level questions, while partnering with quantitative, technology, and data colleagues to build reliable data and reusable analytical capabilities. The analyst combines municipal market knowledge, quantitative analysis, and practical implementation to support investment teams. The role involves identifying and evaluating questions related to relative value, portfolio positioning, risk, performance, and market structure, then building tools to test and apply the resulting ideas. It also has end-to-end responsibility for municipal data, from understanding source systems and resolving discrepancies to producing controlled analytical datasets. The position is based on Invesco’s workplace model, which requires employees to spend at least four full days each week working in an Invesco office, as of October 1, 2025.

Requirements

  • Experience applying quantitative analysis to fixed-income markets, relative value, portfolio risk, performance attribution, or portfolio construction.

  • Ability to formulate investment or analytical questions and build practical tools, models, or applications to evaluate them.
  • Strong hands-on Python and SQL skills, including experience working with complex datasets and automating analytical workflows.
  • Experience investigating data from multiple systems, reconciling inconsistencies, establishing data-quality controls, and developing reliable analytical datasets.
  • Strong judgment and communication skills, including the ability to connect technical analysis to market developments, portfolio exposures, and practical investment decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with modern development practices and platforms such as Git or GitHub, cloud infrastructure, Snowflake, Databricks, or comparable technologies.

  • Investigate differences between expected and realized performance, distinguish market and economic drivers from data or model issues, and communicate findings to portfolio managers and credit researchers.
  • Evaluate leverage and funding risks, including tender option bond and variable-rate municipal term preferred exposures and their implications for total return, liquidity, and distributions.
  • Manage municipal data end to end, including acquisition, definitions, transformations, timing, lineage, quality controls, reconciliation, and availability across systems such as Perform and Aladdin.
  • Build and maintain analytical tools and automated workflows for holdings, transactions, pricing, benchmarks, risk, and performance while reducing routine manual processing.
