Quantitative Analyst Role, Commercial Real Estate
About The Position
Marathon Asset Management is seeking a Quantitative Analyst for their Commercial Real Estate team. This role involves institutionalizing portfolio and asset management processes, building a cloud-based platform for large datasets, and developing data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools for real-time analytics. The analyst will create quantitative investment models for portfolio construction, risk management, and performance analysis, and collaborate with various internal teams and external providers to ensure system integration and data accuracy. Additionally, the role will support investment and asset management teams in analyzing investment opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field from a top-tier university
- 3-10 years of experience in software development or quantitative finance roles preferred
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) required
- Proficiency in database technologies and data management tools (SQL, NoSQL, Spark)
- Experience building financial applications, dashboards, or analytics platforms
- Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills
- Analytically strong and excellent attention to details
Responsibilities
- Institutionalize CRE team’s portfolio management and asset management process
- Build and maintain a cloud-based portfolio management platform to process large datasets and support investment decisions
- Develop data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools that provide real-time portfolio analytics
- Create quantitative investment models for portfolio construction, risk management, and performance analysis
- Collaborate with Investment, Finance, Risk, IT teams and third-party service providers to ensure system integration and data accuracy
- Utilize data-driven insights to assess investment performance and inform strategy adjustments
- Support the investment and asset management teams in analyzing certain investment opportunities across the capital structure as the need arises
