  • Experience using numerical methods in a trading environment, ideally convex and mixed-integer optimization.
  • Coding experience in an object-oriented language, preferably Python or C#.
  • Experience in power markets, ideally including exposure to battery storage, congestion markets, and/or hedging renewable generating assets.
  • Commercially focused, pragmatic approach to work and a strong quantitative background.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Results-oriented personality.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in finance, mathematics, sciences, statistics, engineering, or quantitative economics.

  • Passion, willingness to learn, and a resilient work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to developing and maintaining systems for the systematic and automated commercialization of battery energy storage systems in several US ISO markets.
  • Model short-term power market dynamics, including forward price curves and renewable/PPA hedging factors, to support trading-desk decision-making, including algorithmic trading decisions.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain decision-support tools in production environments.
  • Contribute to developing and improving commercial optimization strategies, calibration, and position-management techniques.
  • Provide quantitative ad hoc support.
  • Build and maintain relationships with experts across the group to understand business needs and provide solutions.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary plus annual discretionary bonus.
  • Opportunity to become a strong expert in the energy renewables trading business.
  • Opportunity to build a broad network at all levels and across countries within RWEST.
  • Motivating workplace built on mutual trust, values, and a feedback culture, with a positive and inspiring working atmosphere.
