About The Position

WEG Transformers USA (WTU) is seeking a Quality Test Technician to support final performance testing on power transformers. In this role, you will perform all electrical tests required by ANSI Standards to establish pass/fail criteria for transformers. This includes assisting with analyzing part failures, identifying root causes, and making recommendations. You will also perform various electrical, thermal, sound, and impulse testing, implement corrective/preventive actions, and collect, enter, and analyze test data. Reading and interpreting bill of material packets for connection information, special testing, and customer requirements will be part of your duties. You will also be responsible for moving transformers using an air pallet and crane, assisting in the maintenance of test equipment, making test adapters from raw materials, and cross-training in all areas.

Requirements

Knowledge of and skill to perform operations in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and statistics
Attention to detail and ability to communicate with varying levels of employees
Ability to work within the WEG Code of Ethics & Values
Able to work over-time as needed, including some weekends
Resides or plans to reside within reasonable commuting distance--no relocation assistance available
Demonstrated ability to communicate in basic English (if applicable for role)
Must be able to safely use a ladder
Must be able to work from heights (up to 16 feet)
Must be able to lift 40 lbs. - not everyday and not every unit, but it is required
Has current work authorization for employment in the United States
Must complete: Job interview, pre-employment drug screen and background check

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Outlook, Excel, and Word)
Experience with a variety of test equipment & systems
Experience in quality inspection and knowledge of electrical testing

Responsibilities

Perform all electrical tests required by ANSI Standards to establish pass / fail of transformers
Assisting with analyzing part failures, identifying root cause and making recommendations
Performing all required electrical, thermal, sound, and impulse testing: applied voltage, induced voltage, load/no-load loss, resistance, heat-run, high voltage surge
Implement corrective/preventive actions
Collect, enter and analyze test data into Test Bay Application, Test program, or Excel spreadsheet
Read and interpret information from bill of material packet for information concerning connections, special testing, customer requirements, etc.
Move transformers into and out of inspection area with air pallet and crane
Assist in maintenance of test equipment
Make test adapters from raw materials
Cross-train in all areas
