Quality Technician - Nights

About The Position

The Quality Technician provides data analysis and written summaries to validate compliance with existing standards or identify deviations. The role handles moderately complex issues and refers highly complex issues to higher-level staff. Daily work includes using inspection tools, inspecting materials and products, conducting tests and analyses, processing rejected production material, and supporting audits and Quality Management System documentation.

Requirements

Experience working in a quality role; manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and work orders.
Intermediate to advanced math skills, including weight measurement, volume, distance, multiplication, division, percentages, and conversions.
Strong attention to detail.
Intermediate computer skills.
Strong time-management skills.
Proven ability to identify, reason through, and solve intermediate nonconformities and deviations.
Must be available to work overtime and weekend hours due to business needs.

Nice To Haves

ASQ certification.
Some knowledge of ISO procedures.
Welding knowledge or experience.

Responsibilities

Analyze data and write summaries to validate or show deviations from existing standards.
Handle moderately complex issues and refer highly complex issues to higher-level staff.
Use tools such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and CMMs in daily tasks.
Participate in product, process, and Quality Management System audits.
Process reject material from production.
Inspect products to ensure conformance to established quality standards.
Initiate nonconformance reports.
Initiate revisions to Quality Management System documentation.
Conduct sample receiving inspections on purchased parts.
Gather gas samples in support of product gas analysis.
Issue production line Certificates of Compliance (CoCs).
Conduct chemical analysis.
Inspect incoming material (FAI) and final product.
Pressure test rupture discs.
Perform leak tests using bubbles and tracer gas sniffing.
Recommend modifications to existing standards or suggest new standards, methods, and procedures.
