About The Position

The Quality Control Technician receives samples from production and performs testing according to customer specifications. The technician documents test data and approves or rejects product based on the results. The position is onsite at PPG’s Liquid Production Plant in Cleveland, Ohio, and reports to a Quality Supervisor. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Friday through Monday.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience.
• Data entry, basic math and reading, and basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to sit, stand, bend, twist, and kneel.

Nice To Haves

• Chemistry courses.
• Experience with Oracle.
• Experience with ISO 9001.

Responsibilities

• Perform scientific testing to evaluate the quality of in-process materials and finished goods.
• Compile, interpret, and document testing data to confirm compliance with established quality standards.
• Maintain basic laboratory housekeeping.
• May establish specifications and write standard operating procedures.
