About The Position

The Quality Control Technician receives samples from production and performs testing according to customer specifications. The technician documents results and approves or rejects products based on testing. The role is onsite at PPG’s Liquid Production Plant in Cleveland, Ohio, and reports to a Quality Supervisor. This weekend night-shift position works four 10-hour shifts from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Friday through Monday. The position performs scientific testing on in-process materials and finished goods, interprets and records results to verify compliance with quality standards, and maintains basic laboratory housekeeping. It may also involve establishing specifications and writing standard operating procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of experience.
Data entry, basic math and reading, and basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit, stand, bend, twist, and kneel.

Nice To Haves

Chemistry coursework is helpful.
Experience with Oracle is a plus.
Experience with ISO 9001 is helpful.

Responsibilities

Perform scientific testing to evaluate the quality of in-process materials and finished goods.
