About The Position

The Quality Control Technician receives samples from production and performs testing according to customer specifications. The technician documents test data and approves or rejects products based on the results. This onsite position is at PPG’s Liquid Production Plant in Cleveland, Ohio, and reports to a Quality Supervisor. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts between Monday and Friday, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with one weeknight off. The stated base salary is $42,000–$55,000 per year based on a 40-hour work week, with an additional shift differential.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of experience.
Data entry, basic math and reading, and basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit, stand, bend, twist, and kneel.

Chemistry coursework.
Experience with Oracle.

Responsibilities

Perform scientific testing to evaluate the quality of in-process materials and finished goods.
Compile, interpret, and document test data to confirm compliance with established quality standards.
Maintain basic laboratory housekeeping.
May establish specifications and write standard operating procedures.
Approve or reject products based on test results.
