About The Position

The Quality Control Technician receives samples from production and performs testing according to customer specifications. The technician documents results and approves or rejects products based on those results. The role is onsite at PPG’s Liquid Production Plant in Cleveland, Ohio, and reports to a Quality Supervisor. It is a weekday night-shift role with four 10-hour shifts between 7:00 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, with one weeknight off. The listed base salary is $42,000–$55,000 per year based on a 40-hour work week, with an additional shift differential.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of experience.
Data entry, basic math and reading, and basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit, stand, bend, twist, and kneel.

Nice To Haves

Chemistry coursework is helpful.
Experience with Oracle is a plus.
Experience with ISO 9001 is helpful.

Responsibilities

Perform scientific testing to evaluate the quality of in-process materials and finished goods.
Compile, interpret, and document test data to confirm compliance with established quality standards.
Maintain basic laboratory housekeeping.
May establish specifications and write standard operating procedures.
Approve or reject product based on testing results.
