About The Position

The Quality Technician collects and prepares windshield samples and conducts a range of glass tests and analyses across windshield parts and production lines. The role includes regular testing, robustness testing when needed, follow-up testing for non-compliant products, and additional testing for parts intended for European and Asian markets. The position requires maintaining test logs and data, interpreting standards and test specifications, and preparing reports. The listed shift is 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; the position may also require an alternative schedule that includes 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

At least 1 year of related laboratory-based testing experience.
Ability to work an alternative schedule that may include 12-hour shifts.
Work beyond 40 hours per week may be required depending on workload or projects, including weekends and holidays.
Proven knowledge of ANSI, European, and Asian market standards.
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and limited direction.
Ability to understand tempered glass and windshield standards.
Familiarity with reading and executing test specifications.
Detail-oriented approach and ability to maintain test logs, results, and data.

Glass industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Collect windshield samples.
Cut windshields to create test samples.
Prepare samples for specific tests.
Conduct body glass fragmentation tests.
Test the water softener system for each windshield line.
Conduct distortion, moisture, pummel, light transmission, boil, ball drop, and opacity testing and analysis for windshield parts.
Conduct robustness testing as needed or required.
Conduct follow-up testing for non-compliant product as required.
Perform additional testing for European and Asian market parts.
Maintain test logs, results, and data.
Compile and compose reports for internal and external purposes.
Summarize data and identify key trends.
