About The Position

Performs routine checks, tests, gauging, and instrument inspections of material, product in process, and finished goods. This role involves performing assigned routine dimensional inspections on product both in process or finished where results are compared with company standards. The technician will visually inspect for obvious defects and perform detailed inspections to determine product quality where limits are not clearly defined. They will notify their leader or supervisor when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when incidents of poor quality are noted, and record quality results on inspection forms, maintaining forms and charts of inspection data, quality levels, or quality studies. Recommendations on the disposition of questionable product will be made to the supervisor/leader, and capability studies will be performed. Additionally, the role requires adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping standards, as well as observing company processes and making recommendations for improvement. Attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

  • High school or technical school education, or equivalent, with mathematics emphasis.
  • Experience with operating gauges and testing equipment. (Optical comparator, Calipers, Micrometers, Height gages, Vision systems)
  • GD&T knowledge.
  • Analytical capabilities to interpret detailed and complex drawings
  • Visual ability (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate inspection machinery for precision work.
  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
