About The Position

Support Production, Engineering, and Quality. Analyze and solve quality problems, prepare inspection plans and instruction, select sampling plan applications, prepare procedure, train inspectors, perform audits, analyze quality costs and other quality data, and apply fundamental statistical methods for process control. Process, gather, and disposition non-conforming material.

Requirements

  • Quality technician training and/or experience (other relevant experience may be substituted at the Quality Manager’s discretion)
  • Must have experience using standard measurement, inspection, and test equipment in the inspection of sheet metal parts and assemblies.
  • Computer knowledge and skills (including CMS).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of SPC as it relates to sheet metal stampings and assemblies.
  • Analytic /problem-solving abilities.
  • Organizational skills and abilities
  • Mechanical skills and knowledge.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Above average computer skills.
  • Must have experience with Quality principles.
  • Knowledge of SPC as it relates to sheet metal stampings and assemblies.
  • Must have experience using standard measurement, inspection, and testing equipment in the inspection of sheet metal parts and assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct material and component testing at all stages of manufacturing.
  • Prepare, conduct, and report on the applicable testing conducted.
  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Perform capability studies as required.
  • Prepare and evaluate dimensional reports, analyze them, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Audit & evaluate assembly check fixtures to ensure they are adjusted and functioning correctly and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Control all Quality Records and Documentation required by the Quality Engineer or Quality Manager.
  • Develop gauging instructions and methods.
  • Perform gauge R & R’s as required.
  • Train employees in check/assembly fixture usage as required.
  • Audit employees and processes which impact the quality of the product and/or the quality of the systems.
  • Assist with sample submissions for customer PPAP deliverables.
  • Maintain gauge records.
  • Perform all functions in a legal, ethical, and professional manner.
  • Empowered to assist in problem-solving, implementation of corrective and preventative actions and continuous improvement plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for support of floor operations and quality to ensure conformance to the Customer specific requirements.
