About The Position

The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting and testing products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure they meet conformance and customer requirements. This role involves interpreting engineering drawings, operating measurement equipment, recording test data, and documenting deviations from standards. The technician will also support calibration activities, participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities, and assist with containment and sorting efforts. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficiency with quality inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to the degree necessary.
• Ability to determine product status based on test and inspection results.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints as applicable to the manufacturing of metals.
• One year of experience in manufacturing or engineering.

Responsibilities

• Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or standards to inspect or test product throughout the manufacturing processes to determine if it is fit for conformance or customer requirements. This can include dimensional, attribute, performance, mechanical or chemical characteristics.
• Records test data, applying statistical process control procedures where applicable.
• Documents reports to validate or identify details for deviations from existing standards, where and when required.
• Supports calibration of tools and gauges as required.
• Operates various types of measurement equipment required to evaluate product conformance (i.e. various coordinate measuring machines, profilometer, hardness tester, optical comparators, various gages (calipers, micrometers, protractors, etc.).
• Coordinates activities related to Material Review Board (MRB) or supports as directed.
• Supports containment and/or sorting activities as requested for external or internal sorts as directed by the quality department leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.
