About The Position

The QA Technician is responsible for the overall process of projects and inspection. This individual will be responsible for performing incoming/outgoing inspection. The QA Technician will have a strong customer focus and have the desire to drive quality investigations and improvements, and to be a contributor to new product development programs. He/She will be self-starting, with a strong desire to succeed, and collaborate and grow with others in the organization. The candidate will demonstrate passion and rigor to learn, improve processes, and serve internal/external customers. The QA Technician will communicate cross functionally within the organization, with frequent interactions with R&D, Operations, Sales, and customer service.

Requirements

  • AS degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar work experience
  • 3-year relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Good understanding of Smartsheet, Excel and Power Point
  • Must demonstrate the ability to show initiative and commitment to the company’s goals as well as readily adapt to changing requirements.
  • Able to work from specifications, technical manuals, schematics, and verbal/written instructions.
  • Ability to discuss technical problems encountered with customers, engineering, and the senior management team verbally and through the written word.
  • Experience with CMM (Zeiss CMM Calypso) is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP systems, Oracle, and customer portal access, exp. a plus

Responsibilities

  • Ability to manage their own time and job priorities with minimal hour-to-hour supervision (self-starter)
  • Detail-oriented and thorough
  • Completion of FAIR in support of quality engineers
  • Ability to work at a high pace, changing environment.
  • Ability to escalate and influence cross-functionally.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Basic understanding of computer applications including spreadsheets, manufacturing test applications, and quality analysis software
  • Understand Calibration and ESD
  • Use standard inspection tools, i.e., micrometers, height gage, calipers. CMM is a plus.
  • Collect and analyze data to predict trends that will affect the improvement of product quality.
  • Ensures effective, timely communication and complete problem resolution.
  • Contributes to root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements within manufacturing, materials, engineering, and planning.
  • Train manufacturing and inspection personnel.
  • Strict compliance with quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.
