About The Position

Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division is seeking a Quality I professional for their Corinth, MS facility. This role involves inspecting components according to work instructions, which may include standard work, blueprints, visual aids, or reusability guidelines. The position operates in a fast-paced, safety and quality-focused environment and requires attention to detail and self-motivation. Teamwork is essential, and the role may involve interpreting blueprints, using specific factory systems, understanding torque requirements, and operating various hand and power tools. Responsibilities can extend to using overhead hoists, loading/unloading parts, operating heavy equipment like reach trucks and forklifts, wearing protective gear such as respirator suits, performing order filling and part management, operating automated packaging equipment, checking incoming cores, and entering data. Cross-training in other positions up to Salary Grade 2 may be required. Regular use of computer systems, including email, is expected, and the candidate will work with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Basic computer experience (ability to read standard work documents and enter data).
  • Required to read/write and interpret documents.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Prior use of hoists.
  • Knowledge of engines and components.
  • Previous forklift experience.
  • Previous inspection experience.
  • Previous experience reading and interpreting blueprints or electronic visual aids.
  • Experience with tooling (hand tools, air tools, pneumatic tools, etc.).
  • May require use of Mag equipment and certification.
  • May require utilizing heavy equipment, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes, and/or electric pallet jack to move parts in and out of area.
  • May require wearing a respirator suit to clean engines and components.
  • May perform order filling, processing, storing/picking of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • May require operating automated packaging equipment.
  • May require checking incoming core/material and entering data.
  • Cross training in other positions up to and including Salary Grade 2 may be required, based upon basic qualifications and physical requirements being met.
  • Candidate will work in an environment without close supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection of components based upon work instructions which may include standard work, blueprints, visual aids or reusability guidelines.

  • Interpret blueprints and utilize Factory Process/EPIX/MES/PinPoint as needed.
  • Understand torque requirements and processes.
  • Operate hand tools, cordless tools, gauges, vibration tools.
  • Use an overhead hoist to move large components.
  • Load and unload parts.
  • Utilize heavy equipment, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes, and/or electric pallet jack to move parts in and out of area.
  • Wear a respirator suit to clean engines and components.
  • Perform order filling, processing, storing/picking of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Operate automated packaging equipment.
  • Check incoming core/material and enter data.
  • Cross train in other positions up to and including Salary Grade 2.
  • Utilize various computer systems including email on a regular basis.
  • Work in an environment without close supervision.
