About The Position

The Quality Tech is responsible for ensuring product quality and reliability by interpreting engineering drawings, conducting inspections, and performing tests. This role involves recording and evaluating data, writing reports, and recommending modifications to quality standards. The position also requires setting up and performing destructive and nondestructive tests, and preparing data for analysis on topics such as PPAPS, Control Plans, Gage Repeatability, and Process Capability Studies.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • High level of proficiency using spreadsheet applications such as Excel, including the use of pivot.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Selects products for evaluation at specified stages in production process, and inspects products for qualities such as dimensions, cleanliness, paint quality, and appearance.
  • Records data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis, on topics such as Part Production Approval Process (PPAPS), Control Plans, Gage Repeatability, and Process Capability Studies.
  • All other duties as assigned.
